Lithuania to allocate humanitarian aid to Taiwan
At the meeting on 22 June, the Government of Lithuania decided to offer humanitarian aid to the people of Taiwan in response to the request for assistance of the Taipei Mission in Latvia and in order to contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences.
In line with the decision of the Lithuanian Government, the Ministry of Health should deliver 20, 000 doses of Vaxzevria to Taiwan in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis voiced his solidarity with the people of Taiwan: "All freedom-loving nations must extend a helping hand to each other".
When the pandemic was declared a year ago, Taiwan donated 100, 000 face masks to Lithuania.
