Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis to attend the Munich Security Conference
On 18 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is attending the 58th Munich Security Conference. The event will take place from 18 to 20 February in Munich, Germany.
The annual conference is dedicated to the most pressing issues of international security policy, global crises and challenges facing the international rules-based order, including Russia's aggressive actions and the build-up of troops near the border with Ukraine.
Landsbergis will also participate in the Transatlantic Forum organised by the German Christian Social Union and will discuss cooperation between Germany and the United States, leadership and response to Russia’s threats.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister will hold meetings with the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly Melanie, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liechtenstein Dominique Hasler, the Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the future Chairman of the Munich Security Conference Christoph Heusgen, and Timo Blenk, CEO of the Agora Strategy Group AG, a strategic political consultancy with a focus on geopolitical risk analysis and business intelligence. The bilateral meetings will focus on Russian military pressure on Ukraine, implications of Russia's military presence in Belarus for regional security, support for Ukraine, China-related challenges, as well as important issues of bilateral economic cooperation and coordination on the international stage.
